Senior Developer - ContractorCompanyAirbus Space and Defence - Intelligence is a leading provider of optical and satellite imagery, geographic information products, software and services delivering geographic information solutions into both private and public sector organisations worldwide.Airbus Defence and Space provides high value-added solutions including satellite data & geographical information acquisition and processing, operational emergency planning systems, geo-information, risk analysis, consultancy, data management and hosting.High Level Solution DescriptionCore Technologies Used· User interface is a web portal· Most system code is Python, with Bootstrap providing the Portal UI framework· Cesium world-view provides the ability to view areas of interest on a globe in the web portal· Database store is MongoDB· Some bits of C/C++ code in specialist library routes - invoked from the Python structure· Custom broadcast messaging systemOutline Functionality· Users place "orders" in the database using the Portal and system ingests supporting data from a third party system (the Mission Planning System) · Satellite system takes images and places the files for these in a "reception area" on the system· System then identifies the processing to perform on the image file based on details in the orders· Third party processing engines and QA routines are invoked via Python adapter services to process-and-check the image data as requiredThere are many other third party technologies used, but knowledge of these is not expected and would have to be learned "on the job":· Mission Planning System (SaVoir, Atlas, SatPlanner) - provide support functions and data, but are otherwise not in scope· Data Processing engines (Smart-I, Terra, Keystone) - are invoked by the developed system.
