My clients is well established and busy manufacturing company based in Tameside.  We are now looking for them a Accountant/Finance Assistant.  The primary objective of the role is the completion of accounts related tasks in a timely and accurate manner.(Maternity fixed term cover ? 15 months) Starting in SeptemberInterviews being held w/c 4/9/17 with a start Monday 18th September Salary dep on experience9.00am ? 5.00pm Monday ? Friday 28 days holiday Inc stat rising by 1 day after a completed holiday calendar year Auto enrolled 4% Contributory from Co ? deferred for 3 months Heavily subsidised on-site canteen Free car parking3 month probationary period following which eligible for Life Assurance x 1Responsible for the following duties: ·         Maintain cashbooks ? including, downloading Bank Statements, record Bank statement transactions. Post all currency sales ledger items to system. Total, code and post all nominal items on a daily basis. Ensure all purchase ledger items are complete to enable daily posting. Arrange cheques payments as requested.·         Reconcile bank accounts both Sterling and Currency. Balance all accounts daily·         Issue petty cash when required and deal with receipts against staff sales. Record petty cash transactions. Balance petty cash weekly. Post to nominal at Month End the completed petty cash book. ·         Make bank transfers payments as required ? including payments to overseas suppliers as agreed with purchase ledger, ensuring items are authorised and paid to terms. Purchase of Foreign currency to ensure levels are adequate for payment runs.·         Upload to the Bank Payroll BACS, Purchase Ledger payments runs and expenses values on agreed dates.  ·         Make agreed payments of all statutory payments for PAYE/NIC, VAT and Corporation Tax as advised.·         Produce analysis reports as required for inclusion in the Board Report.·         Prepare and post nominal monthly journals including the depot stock transfer journal. Ensuring all figures are agreed with depots by agreed deadlines.·         Additional assignments as directed by the Finance General Manager or Finance Office Manager, including reconciliation?s of nominal and Balance Sheet accounts.·         Cover Finance Duties performed by the Wages/Finance Assistant as required and during periods of holidays and sickness.Experience:The successful candidate must have recent experience in a similar role together with excellent working knowledge of the tasks to be undertaken.  Candidates will also be organised, have good communication and time management skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and work accurately under pressure.  Candidates are to be qualified to AAT Level 4 and/or have working experience at this level together with excellent skills in excel.
