Student Financial SupportŁ7,636 per annum18.50 hours x 52 weeks Open to Internal and external applicants The Sheffield College - Hillsborough Campus (Sparks Managed Services Ltd) The post is based within the Financial Support team which is based at the Hillsborough Campus at the Sheffield College. The post holder will be expected to provide some support at other campuses of the College. The post holder will play an important role in the processing of applications from students across the College who require financial support which could include help with their study materials, books, clothing or transport. There is a limited budget and demand exceeds the resources available. The post holder has to ensure that each application is carefully assessed against nationally determined criteria, so that money goes to the most deserving cases. This role involves a mix of day-to-day contact with students, their families and teaching/support staff both face-to-face, by telephone and through correspondence. The post holders need to have a genuine empathy with applicants, maintain confidentiality whilst at the same time being able to exercise objective judgement in applying the criteria. It is essential that successful applicants have:experience of working within an administration/financial environmentexperience of using IT applications including maintaining databasesexcellent communication/ interpersonal skillsability to prioritise their own workload and work to deadlines The ability to work as a team member, be motivated, accurate and flexible are also essential. Experience of working with young people and student data systems would be desirable.
