This position is based in the Microbiology Department and involves the analysis of a range of body fluids including blood, urine, faeces, mycology and swabs to assist in the diagnosis of disease and contributes to the clinical care of patients.Tasks involve the running of analysers including maintenance, reagent preparation, quality control, reporting and verification of results and troubleshooting analyser and result issues.Samples must be prioritised according to urgency ensuring all priority samples are expedited and sent to the section for analysis at the earliest opportunity.The successful applicant will be enthusiastic, well-motivated, possess excellent organisational and interpersonal skills and be committed to the provision of a high quality laboratory service.
