Are you looking for a new challenge? Do you have excellent communication skills, consider yourself to be caring and compassionate and want to make a difference to patient?s experience on a daily basis?  We are seeking enthusiastic highly motivated Nursing Assistants (NA's) to undertake the nationally recognised Care Certificate training programme, to prepare you for working in an acute hospital care setting, and become part of our nursing teams delivering high quality patient care.  We can offer a competitive salary, paid weekly in arrears (Bank Only) and entry into the NHS pension scheme and the first steps on to an exciting career pathway.  We have full and part time Band 2 positions. You must be able to work a minimum of 24 hours per week. The usual shift patterns are 12 hour shifts (day shift 7am start, night shift 19:00pm start).  For those wishing to work ad hoc hours we can offer registration with the Nurse Bank, providing more flexibility. Again, you must also be able to work a minimum of 24 hours over the previously mentioned 12 hour shift patterns. The Care Certificate training is a 12 week programme for full time staff, and up to 18 weeks for part time staff. If you already have experience in care you may not need to undertake this, however every applicant is required to undertake a two-week full-time induction programme. For student nurses and medical students a bespoke induction programme is available. Requirements: ? Whilst previous experience of caring for acutely ill or frail patients would be advantageous, we are also interested in hearing from individuals who have a special talent for being caring and compassionate and who would be able to go the extra mile to help our patients feel valued and cared for and at all times to treat them with dignity and respect. ? Good literacy and numeracy skills ? Four or more GCSE; including Maths and English at grade D or above (or equivalent). ? Good command of the English language, both written and spoken ? Excellent interpersonal and communication skills ? Ability to develop IT and computing skills which are appropriate to the job role ? Good team player with the ability to work flexibly and recognise own limitations ? Ability to undertake the Trust induction program and 12 or 18 week Care Certificate program. Here you will have the opportunity to attend a presentation, to gain a better understanding of the Nursing Assistant role and whether it is suitable for you. The session will also require you to complete basic multiple-choice numeracy and literacy test papers.  Sample numeracy question:A care plan shows that a patient was born in 1943.
