Alarms and Electrical Quality Assurance InspectorPAY: £ 13.76PAY PLAN:S-0809-09CATEGORYFull time 37.50 hours per week LOCATION/ACTIVITY:RAF ALCONBURYBENEFITS:Benefits include paid annual and sick leave and opportunity to join Group Stakeholder Pension Scheme.  For additional information contact the LNDH team on 01638 544955DESCRIPTION: Incumbent will perform inspections on a variety of facilities involving a range of minor construction, maintenance, and repair operations; and regularly conduct inventory and assesses condition of electrical, alarms, and power production systems for a variety of physical facilities and main distribution infrastructure using computerized Sustainment Management System programs.  Incumbent will coordinate with contractor representatives concerning work plans, scheduling interpretation of plans and specifications, selection of work methods, and acceptability of materials and workmanship to ensure compliance with contract requirements. Incumbent will be required to attend contract bid opening, pre-construction conferences, project close-outs, and fire and safety conferences to provide needed information and clarify technical portions of specifications and plans.        GENERAL EXPERIENCE: 1.  Knowledge of construction inspection practices and procedures involved in the inspection of building materials workmanship, utilities, and the installation of systems, and the practical methods and techniques of engineering principles relating to facility and infrastructure operation and maintenance .2.  Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and structural aspects of minor construction projects. 3.  Knowledge of inspection and safety practices and procedures in the construction and facility maintenance industry.4.  Knowledge of engineering and architectural plans and specifications to read and interpret construction requirements.5.  Knowledge of construction trades, algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.6.  Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.OTHER SIGNIFICANT FACTS: 1.  Incumbent must hold, or be capable of obtaining an electrical skilled persons certificate within 6 months in the position.2. It is highly desired that the incumbent hold HNC/HND/BTEC, City and Guilds, NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualifications in an appropriate discipline, together with a minimum of three years? work experience in the trade.3.  A valid driver?s license is required for this position.4.  Incumbent will be required to attend courses to keep up to date with new practices, materials and safety legislation.5.  May be required to wear personal protective equipment when performing on-site inspections.6.  Work may frequently require travel away from normal duty station.MEDICAL/SECURITY REQUIREMENTS: Security clearance  ImmunizationsPre-employment medical FOOD HANDLERSDefence Barring Service (DBS ) certificateEDUCATION/TRAINING:  Education or equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for all required experience.HOURS OF DUTY:Monday ?
