Job Title:                    Chef Manager  Reporting to:             Area Manager                                      Overall Purpose:       The overall management of a catering operation, monitoring and                                          controlling the catering service to ensure that quality and consistency                                     of service are maintained at all times. Key Responsibilities ˇ        To supervise, prepare and cook meals to Company Standards, requirement of the Contract specification, Statutory Regulations and in accordance with the agreed standard recipe ensuring the very highest food quality and presentation.ˇ        To order supplies from nominated suppliers and ensure stock control systems and production planning systems are implemented and effectively managed. ˇ        Maintain financial control of labour, food and materials to keep within targets. ˇ        To ensure that the Company Assured Safe Catering system is implemented, managed and maintained, including appropriate record keeping.ˇ        To manage and motivate a team of staff to provide a customer focused service provision at all times.ˇ        To manage effectively and take responsibility for all members of staff within the Kitchen and any related Dining Centres.ˇ        To ensure that the servery/dining area is prepared in advance and returned following service to the required standard.ˇ        To ensure that menu and service information is available and correct for that days service, and to ensure that portion control is maintained to the required standardˇ        Plan and allocate work to ensure effective use of staff and equipment and ensure that duties are fairly distributed.ˇ        If applicable, to manage and control all aspects of any related Dining centres. Supervise and participate in meal preparation and cooking for functions and events, to the required standardsˇ        Ensure that all employees comply with all legislation including Health and Safety, Food Hygiene and Personal Hygiene.   ˇ        Participate and co-operate with the implementation of the Company?s anti-theft policiesˇ        Provide early notification to Group Manager when recruitment of staffing cover is required, and participate as required in the recruitment process.ˇ        Advise Group Manager of any changes which affect working environment or procedures, including changes in use of equipment or areas to be cleaned.ˇ        Participate in the production of Risk Assessments on methods of work, use of chemicals and equipment.     JOB DESCRIPTION - Chef Manager (Continued)  ˇ        Report all accidents and dangerous occurrences to  the Group Managerˇ        To carry out investigation of all incidents and accidents involving ISS employees, machinery or equipment.   Ensuring all accident reporting procedures are followed.ˇ        To ensure correct materials, equipment and methods are used at all times and equipment is kept clean and in good working order. Report faulty machinery / equipment immediately.ˇ        Wear full uniform at work and to ensure that it is clean and presentable as all times.ˇ        Wear PPE provided.ˇ      Use every effort to develop and maintain effective working relationships with our customer and ISS colleagues.ˇ      To attend training as required by your Manager.ˇ      To attend meetings and cluster groups as required.ˇ      Be punctual for start and finish times.ˇ      To ensure that efficient and economic use is made of all resources.ˇ      Work effectively during contracted hours and be willing to work overtime as the job demands.ˇ      Carry out any other reasonable duties as directed by the Group Manager Please note that the above duties are not set out in any particular priority.
