An exciting opportunity has arisen with NHS England to recruit to a Deputy Head of Performance and Assurance in the West Midlands Performance and Assurance Team. The post holder will work as part of a small, dynamic team to ensure the effective assurance of Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCG) across the West Midlands area.The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and will work closely with colleagues across NHS England, CCGs and NHS Improvement to ensure high quality, safe, patient and client centred services. The Deputy Head of Performance and Assurance will also play a lead and critical role in overseeing the operational planning process for CCGs, and the monitoring of delivery against those plans.The post holder will have a good knowledge of the NHS, with an understanding of the current strategic priorities, opportunities and challenges for both Commissioners and Providers. The post requires senior experience of working in assurance, performance management and service redesign. You will enjoy working in a busy, fast paced environment with the ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines. An eye for detail is important, as is being highly numerate, with good IT skills. The post will also require excellent written communication, with a requirement to provide high quality briefings for very senior colleagues, to tight deadlines.Relevant experience includes being familiar with and experienced in leading and motivating people, as well as experience in leading and managing a range of projects. The post holder will define and design a range of new processes. The post holder will also be required to work with challenged systems and also advise colleagues and stakeholders as to how best practice might be adopted.This advert closes on Monday 16 Oct 2017
