An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and experienced neonatal nurse with excellent clinical skills to apply for a Band 6 Deputy Sister / Deputy Charge Nurse post with the Leicester Neonatal Service. You will be a Registered Children?s or Adult Nurse or Midwife and have successfully completed the ENB 405 and 998 or equivalents. You should have significant experience working in the Neonatal environment, and preferably have experience caring for babies requiring surgery. Leicester Neonatal Service opened a brand new neonatal unit in September 2010. The new Level 3 unit is situated at Leicester Royal Infirmary (LRI) and has a capacity for 36 cots, 30 of which are currently operational. In addition, at Leicester General Hospital (LGH) we have a level 1 unit with 12 cots. The neonatal service is run as a single service across the 2 sites.This post may require cross site working.Leicester?s maternity service is one of the largest in the UK with over 10,500 deliveries annually. Leicester?s Neonatal Service is the lead centre for the Central Newborn Network (CNN) and we can offer you experience in many aspects of neonatal care ? Intensive, high dependency and special care, Neonatal surgery, Outreach, Transport and Research.The Leicester Neonatal Service will be expanding capacity over the coming 12 months and the development of new staff will be key to this successful expansion. You will be supported by a mentor who can work alongside you during your induction to the unit and we encourage and support continuing professional development through education and training opportunities. As this post is regulated by the Protection of Children Act 1999, The Criminal Justice Courts Act 2000 and / or the Care Standards Act 2000 an enhanced criminal records disclosure will be requested by the Trust in the event of a successful application.This advert closes on Thursday 23 Nov 2017
