The Daventry site is a Centre of excellence for fracture mechanics, fatigue and structural testing. The RoleThe Engineer role will play a key part in servicing some of the largest and most successful Engineering clients in the world by ensuring flexibility and responsiveness to their demands as well as delivering the best possible technical expertise and performance. This role has daily responsibility of supporting the operation and will give clear technical guidance as necessary across the Daventry laboratory?s wide range of mechanical testing capabilities. Main responsibilities of the role include:Responsibility for technical input and review of proposalsReview the full work scope of a project to ensure that it can be executed in a safe way, to the highest quality standard Review technical standards/requirements and where appropriate write job specific test proceduresMaintain, develop and improve process within the laboratory at all levels and in all areasLiaise with Quality team to obtain and maintain approvalsWork closely with colleagues in Technical and Operational teamsProvide clear work instructions to TechniciansProvide technical leadership of the team, with support from other colleaguesWriting clear, accurate and high quality technical reportsLiaise with clients on all matters technicalPerform review and audit activities on jobs including:Technical contract reviewTechnical procedure review/auditJob start readiness reviewJob close review What are we looking for?A formal qualification in an appropriate engineering/scientific discipline at degree levelProven track record working within an appropriate environmentFamiliarity with national and international mechanical testing standardsExcellent problem solving skills and organisation skillsExcellent attention to detail and strong communication skillsAdaptable and flexible in approach
