Front End Web Developer London Competitive Salary The Role Working within the Technology team at Citywire, you will play a key part in building and delivering systems that help grow the business. As well as our public websites, we build many of our internal applications in house; such as our CMS, email and magazine circulation management tool, audience engagement analytics platform, investment management and analysis tools. Technology is one of Citywire?s four core areas of expertise, combined with design, content and audience analysis we create products and services that professional investors depend upon.You will be responsible for writing high-quality markup and client-side code for new and existing web applications, bringing designs or wireframes to life. You will work with other developers and the UI Designer. You will take ownership of the front-end architecture, ensuring it is maintainable, scalable and performant.We work in an agile environment; developing in small iterations and working directly with stakeholders on a wide range of projects. You would gain strong exposure to the skills and ideas we have across all departments and every opportunity to develop your own skills.Key Responsibilities of the Front End Web Developer: Develop UI features within web applicationsWrite responsive, cross-browser, semantic HTML and CSSApply functionality using client-side scriptingIntegrate with back-end - via APIs, data models etc.Build well-structured front-end architecture that is easily maintainableOptimise applications for performance and scalabilityCollaborate with UI designer and back-end developersWhat you?ll need to become the Front End Web Developer: Excellent: Responsive HTML & CSS for web and emailUnderstanding of CSS preprocessors, such as SASSJavaScript and frameworks, such as Angular.jsKnowledge of CSS architecture and methodologiesDesirable skills / knowledge / experience of the Front End Web Developer: JavaScript test frameworksSEO principlesSource / version control, such as GitAgile development practisesApproach Self-motivated, able to identify priorities as well as risks within your projects and others.Able to take ownership of a task and see it through.An eye for detail and personal pride in every piece of work producedCollaborative - enjoy working as part of a team in an agile environmentProfessional Experience Minimum 3 years industry experienceIf you have worked on large scale websites it would be an advantage.What we offer you:10% Time, every other Friday working on any project that you feel will advance you or the business.25 days holiday per annum (rising to 30 days after five years? service) plus bank holidays, subsidised gym membership, Kiddivouchers, Ride2work scheme & travel ticket loans.Freshly ground coffee, fresh organic fruit delivered daily, breakfast cereals and nuts to help yourself to.After two years continuous service you will also be entitled to private health and dental care insurance, critical illness and death in service cover.We are an inclusive organisation and actively promote equality of opportunity for all with the right mix of talent, skills and potential.
