 JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title:  Fundraising Communications Officer, Maternity Cover ContractLocation:  Head Office, Harrington Lane, ExeterReports to:  Fundraising ManagerHours:  37.5 per weekDuration:  Temporary, up to 12 monthsSalary:  £22,000 per annum                             SUMMARYEffectively support the community in planning and promoting their events through social and local media plus sponsorship, online giving and DAA led events to maximise PR and fundraising potential.  RESPONSIBILITIES, DUTIES, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Communications and relationships Engage with fundraisers and volunteers via social media.Ensure accurate and relevant information is gathered from volunteers and donors and recorded in our database.Deal with volunteer and public fundraising enquiries.Participate in team & office meetings and liaise regularly with the Fundraising & Comms team.Work closely with the rest of the CF team to ensure our supporters/volunteers are fully supported.Deal promptly and efficiently with all enquiries.Participate in DAAT events. Knowledge and experience Excellent IT skills.Experience of working unsupervised and using own initiative.Excellent knowledge of social media and key platforms used to support supporter communications and promote the charity.Demonstrable ability to write clearly and persuasively (eg blogs, articles, press releases). Training/Qualifications Clean full UK/EU driving licence.Educated or qualified to diploma level or equivalent in communications, marketing or fundraising. Planning and organisational skills Follow best practise and procedures.Comply with Health & Safety requirements.Facilitate provision of appropriate promotional materials and literature such as posters, buckets etc. Creative and intellectual effort Prepare literature, posters, display boards for events and promotions.Create and distribute press releases, blogs and articles for Helipad and other publications. Emotional effort Occasional direct exposure or frequent indirect exposure to distressing or emotional circumstances. Physical skills and effort This role will require occasional light or moderate physical effort and standard keyboard skills. Accountability, autonomy and judgement Accountable for own and others results at agreed intervals.Freedom to act within agreed parameters, making judgements involving a range of facts or situations that require analysis and comparison of a range of options. Financial, physical and information resources Responsible for handling cash, equipment and sensitive data. Policy and service Making proposals for policies within own work area and the team. Working conditions Lengthy daily use of VDU. Leadership and people Responsible for providing training within own department Closing date:                   Mon 27th Nov 2017 at 9.00Interview dates:             Fri 1st & Wed 6th Dec 2017
