CT Furniture?A charity that is able to provide affordable second hand furniture to people in need?Our ValuesOur core values are ?putting customers first; providing value for money and always being forward thinking?The RoleYou will assist the Business Development Manager in overseeing the daily operation of the retail warehouse, ensuring that the warehouse layout, standards and operations are to an acceptable standard, in accordance with the premises standards checklist. You will help to ensure that the volunteers and work placements are properly supported and deployed on their daily tasks whilst ensuring a positive image of Community Transport?s work through the retail warehouse and maintaining a standard of excellence at all times with regards to customer service and supporter care. You will be responsible for the delivery of social media communication and online marketing, building the organisations online presence on sites such as Facebook and Gumtree to advertise products for sale. Your main location of work will be Byker, NE6 1JR however flexibility to work from other sites as and when required is essential.Key responsibilities of the role will include:1. Salesa) Working with the Business Development Manager, ensure weekly sales targets are met whilst items for sale are priced competitively within the local market.b) Grow furniture sales and the customer base with a specific focus on maximising on-line marketing and selling via social media platforms, CT furniture website and the wider internet.c) Ensure customers at the retail premises and online are served efficiently and effectively, using the very highest levels of customer service and to deal promptly with customer complaints in line with the complaints procedure.d) Maximize income generated from donations of Gift Aided items from donors/supporters.e) Work with existing systems (EPOS) and any new computer systems that may be introduced following a suitable period of training.2. Stock Management and Retail Standardsa) Be responsible for processing stock received from furniture collections and organising items for delivery to customers in line with the standard set in the Furniture Manual.b) Work with all colleagues to ensure that goods are displayed in such a way that ensures good practice in relation to health and safety and effective visual merchandising and that the premises are kept clean and tidy at all times.c) Liaise with colleagues in other premises about the movement of stock between warehouses to ensure all retail premises locally are appropriately stocked.d) Actively engage with other staff, volunteers and work placements so they are able to perform their tasks efficiently, and to create an organised and pleasant working environment for all colleagues.3. Administration, Security, Health and Safetya) Undertake the required administration associated with sales, stock control, collections and deliveries ensuring that all are processed as quickly as possible.b) Assist the Business Development Manager and Administration team in the day-to-day scheduling and booking of furniture donations, collections and deliveries.c) Open and close the retail warehouse and be responsible for the security of daily takings from sales.d) Be responsible for ensuring and achieving the objectives of the Community Transport Health and Safety Policy and promoting our positive health and safety culture4. Othera) To cover outlets/shop duties in periods of absence or holidays. This may involve working at different times to your normal hours and may include weekends.b) To demonstrate responsibility for promoting and championing all aspects of equal opportunities, valuing and managing diversity in all areas of our work.c) Act in such a way at all times that safeguards the health and wellbeing of children and vulnerable adultsd) To undertake any other duties deemed commensurate with the post to meet your team and organisation objectives following consultation with your manager and in compliance with the employee handbookYou will possess:1) Experience of record keeping, cash handling and delivering agreed targets in a related service2) Experience of furniture re-use, recycling or goods transport aswell as experience of using social media applications and on-line market places such as Facebook, Gumtree and E-bay3) Ability to work as part of a committed and motivated team and communicate effectively4) Willingness to work flexibly to meet the needs of the business including evening and regular weekend work5) Good physical fitness ? a significant amount of manual handling is requiredTO APPLY PLEASE VISIT https://www.communitytransport.fusehr.co.uk
