The MOD?s Directorate of Defence Communications (DDC) has a vacancy for a web content editor/publisher. The MOD Corporate website is managed by the DDC editorial team which is the Single Point of Contact for defence information on GOV.UK. The editorial team is also responsible for managing and publishing content for 12 MOD Arm?s Length Bodies /Non Departmental Public Body websites. The publishing of content online in an accurate and timely manner is essential in delivering the department?s statutory, health & safety and legal obligations. This is a challenging role where will need the ability to work at pace and manage the publishing of sensitive/embargoed material. The Editor will report to the MOD GOV.UK Managing Editor and sits with the DDC?s Digital Strategy Team. Skills required The Editor will need to have significant experience in using web publisher systems (ideally GOV.UK). The Editor will have experience of writing user centric content is essential and a good working knowledge of web writing best practice and writing in Plain English (ideally the GOV.UK Style Guide and Content Types). Excellent communication skills, both oral and written are essential as the Editor needs to provide clear and authoritative content and user journey advice to stakeholders. The Editor will be able explain and enforce web standards. The Editor will liaise closely with other DDC teams and MOD stakeholders to publish content to support campaigns and communication priorities and conduct content reviews. The Editor needs to have good time management and organisational skills. Desirable: Evidence of working within a government communications team Evidence of working on web publisher systems, ideally GOV.UK Evidence of working towards completion of a communications qualification (NVQ Level 3 upwards)
