(FIXED TERM TO EARLY AUGUST 2017) The College is seeking an experienced General Cook to provide an efficient and effective Catering service. This post will assist in the production of meals mainly within the kitchen for the provision of the catering services. You will be expected to carry out skilled cooking activities connected with the full range of meals, portion control, hospitality and special dietary requirements as well as maintaining appropriate records regarding Cooksafe, daily stock levels and ordering stock. The successful candidate will ensure hygiene practices and standards of cleanliness are maintained in accordance to the Health & Safety policy and Food Hygiene legislation and also prepare and produce daily menus within the agreed budget. It is essential the post-holder has a Catering qualification (SCQF Level 4) and an Elementary Hygiene Certificate, as well as sound knowledge of Cooksafe system. The General Cook will assist in the delivery of catering services to all customers within the kitchen and FOH service. You will have good verbal/written skills and be able to develop and maintain effective working relationships with the team, customers and suppliers.
