Environmental Services   HGV DRIVER x 4  The current salary grade for this post is: £18,070 - £22,658 per annum (Grade 3, SCP 18 - 25) ** Note the Council is currently reviewing its pay and grading structure and the salary may be subject to change. VAC REF: 25_17 We are seeking to recruit 4 reliable, enthusiastic and self-motivated people to safely deliver the high profile services of Waste Collection across the district. It is essential that you hold an LGV Driving Licence Class C and have the skills required to manoeuvre large vehicles in restricted and difficult areas. The ability to undertake heavy manual work is essential.  Previous experience in similar work is desirable.  This is a responsible post and it is essential you have an appreciation of the contribution that good waste management practices can have to improving the environment and the image of the Council. You must possess good communication skills, be able to supervise and motivate a small team. You must have the ability to undertake a range of duties and to learn quickly, undertaking tasks with minimum supervision. You will be required to work both as part of a team and independently. You will have the ability to communicate clearly and courteously both to your work colleagues and members of the public and to work to written instructions. You will have an awareness of Health and Safety legislation. You must be flexible, as early morning, evening and weekend work are required. You will be required to work in adverse weather conditions and to handle waste. Full training will be given to the successful candidates, however willingness to learn and use a wide variety of vehicles and equipment is essential. The successful candidates will be required to work extra ?catch-up? days to compensate for every bank holiday. Such days will normally be either the Saturday immediately before the bank holiday or the Saturday immediately after the bank holiday, although in some circumstances you will be required to work the bank holiday.    You will be required to start and end your day at White Lund Depot, Morecambe. These posts are 37 hours per week, split over 4 days, from 7.00 am to 4.45 pm.
