An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual with experience of working in a complex programme environment to lead the new PMO function for UHL?s major reconfiguration programme.The Head of UHL Reconfiguration PMO function is a senior manager with subject-matter expertise in project and programme management, who has day-to-day responsibility for running an effective reconfiguration PMO and ensuring successful delivery of the projects and work-streams within it. The reconfiguration programme is a cornerstone of UHL?s strategy which in the long term secures the long term clinical and financial sustainability of the Trust.The purpose of the PMO is to administer the reconfiguration programme and monitor work-streams to ensure cost, quality, time and benefits realisation are controlled and achieved. The post-holder will work closely with the Reconfiguration Programme Director and Project Managers and a range of experts from across the organisation to ensure successful delivery of projects and associated benefits, identifying key risks and mitigation across the health system which could affect delivery. They will support project managers through the development of standard approaches to project management, prioritisation of resources across projects and the dissemination of internal and external best practice and lessons learnt. All projects will be managed to a standard framework, based on Prince Methodology. Under the direction of the Programme Director, the post holder will have responsibility for: ? overseeing and developing the systems, process and roles associated with the PMO;? supporting project managers to deliver robust project plans;? coordinating risks and dependencies across the portfolio of projects; ? managing the project managers to ensure compliance with agreed project deliverables and timeframes; ? providing support and guidance to workstream leads to ensure a robust and consistent approach to all projects;? production of key programme reports and information. The successful candidate will be a confident and highly motivated individual with a proven track record in project and/or programme management, preferably within in healthcare or similar complex environment. With a natural ability and flair to organise and lead a broad range of complex activities, the successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the ability to work under pressure to deliver challenging deadlines, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
