Learning Support Assistant - Leicester - Secondary schools - subject & pupil specific roles Your new company Hays Education work in partnership with Secondary Schools across Leicester and we are currently recruiting for experienced Learning Support Assistants for immediate and August 2017 starts. Your new role As a Secondary Learning Support Assistant you will have opportunities to work in subject specialisms such as Maths, English, Science or Languages or 1:1 with pupils requiring extra learning support or behaviour management. You will be working either 1:1 or with small groups of pupils and in some instances be required to cover classes in the absence of a class teacher. On longer term assignments you will support the class teacher in lesson planning and preparation for the pupil as well as monitoring pupil's progress and updating IEP's and other reports for SEND pupils. Your main responsibility is to ensure that the children and young people you support maximise their learning potential and work towards positive outcomes.What you'll need to succeed You will be an experienced Teaching Assistant ideally with a Teaching Assistant qualification and hold GCSE's Grade C or higher in Maths and English. In subject specific roles such as Maths, English, Science or languages you will have a passion for your specific subject and be knowledgeable of the relevant curriculum from KS3-KS5. You will be an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant that can engage and build positive relationships with students and inspire them to get the most out of their education.What you'll get in return You will be offered a long term Teaching Assistant role that will be 5 days a week.
