Blue Arrow work with one of the North East's main automotive manufacturers, and we are seeking candidates to join their Assembly and Press departments. The Assembly roles include using spot and robot welders to assemble automotive components in a high volume production environment, performing detailed Quality and Safety checks, working to challenging targets and achieving excellent quality records. Candidates would ideally have experience of working in the automotive industry, including working to Standard Operating Procedures, good understanding of quality and safety issues and ability to follow processes, use of automated welding systems and ability to concentrate on repetitive tasks for long periods. The Press roles are also based within a similar high volume production environment, monitoring and operating presses from 200 up to 3000 tonnes, with potential for training in overhead crane operation.Candidates should have experience of working in a press environment, although other heavy manufacturing experience would be considered. Candidates should also have an ability to follow operating procedures, and problem solving skills are an advantage. Both roles will involve a high volume of overtime as a requirement of the job to meet customer demands, and both roles are based on a 1, 2 or 3 shift pattern (some continental shifts in the press roles). Shift allocations cannot be guaranteed and can be changed therefore candidates must be able to work any of the patterns. Own transport would be beneficial (but not essential) due to the nature of the shift patterns.
