Monday - Friday32.5 hours per weekŁ9.97 per hourTerm time onlyOverall Purpose:        To provide school meals and to ensure that quality and consistency                                     of service are maintained at all times. Key Responsibilities ·         To supervise, prepare and cook school meals to Company Standards, requirement of the Contract specification, Statutory Regulations and in accordance with the agreed standard recipe ensuring the very highest food quality and presentation.·         To order supplies from nominated suppliers and ensure stock control systems and production planning systems are implemented and effectively managed. ·         Maintain financial control of labour, food and materials to keep within targets. ·         To ensure that the Company Assured Safe Catering system is implemented, managed and maintained, including appropriate record keeping.·         To manage and motivate a team of staff to provide a customer focused service provision at all times.·         To manage effectively and take responsibility for all members of staff within the School Kitchen.·         To ensure that the servery/dining area is prepared in advance and returned following service to the required standard.·         To ensure that menu and service information is available and correct for that days service, and to ensure that portion control is maintained to the required standard·         Plan and allocate work to ensure effective use of staff and equipment and ensure that duties are fairly distributed.·         Supervise and participate in meal preparation and cooking for functions and events, to the required standards·         Carry out induction of new employees, and refresher training of existing employees to include skills and method training, essential Tool-Box-Talks talks.·         Ensure that all employees comply with all legislation including Health and Safety, Food Hygiene and Personal Hygiene.   ·         Participate and co-operate with the implementation of the Company?s anti-theft policies·         Ensure accurate completion of all documentation, including completion of returns required by head office, adhering to company deadlines at all times.·         Provide early notification to Area Manager when recruitment of staffing cover is required, and participate as required in the recruitment process.·         Advise Area Manager of any changes which affect working environment or procedures, including changes in use of equipment or areas to be cleaned.·         Manage implementation of Company?s Health, Safety and Environmental policy.·         Report all accidents and dangerous occurrences to  the Area Manager·         Ensuring all accident reporting procedures are followed.·         To ensure correct materials, equipment and methods are used at all times and equipment is kept clean and in good working order. Report faulty machinery / equipment immediately.·         Wear full uniform at work and to ensure that it is clean and presentable as all times.·         Wear PPE provided.·      Use every effort to develop and maintain effective working relationships with our customer and ISS colleagues.·      To attend training as required by your Manager.·      To attend meetings and cluster groups as required.·      Be punctual for start and finish times.·      To ensure that efficient and economic use is made of all resources.·      Work effectively during contracted hours and be willing to work overtime as the job demands.·      Carry out any other reasonable duties as directed by the Area Manager Please note that the above duties are not set out in any particular priority.
