The Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest NHS teaching trusts in the country. It provides a wide range of general and specialist clinical services and is a base for medical education, training and research.The Trust comprises of four hospitals - the John Radcliffe Hospital, Churchill Hospital and Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Headington and the Horton Hospital in Banbury.An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our dynamic wards as a Band 2 Clinical Support Worker at UGI and SEU. We are in the position to be able to offer you the exciting opportunity of working as a CSW Band 2 within one of our units. The Upper G.I Ward is a fast paced environment, containing 28 beds, covering a wide range of surgery from specialties such as hepatobiliary and oesophagogastric. We look after patients who have undergone major surgery such as Whipples, Oesophagectomy, liver resections, hepatectomy, Gastrectomy and many more. We also see more routine surgeries such as open cholecystectomy, hellers myotomy, nissen fundoplication and hernia repairs. The SEU is a fast paced and dynamic clinical area at the John Radcliffe Hospital, caring for patients with a wide range of general surgical conditions, covering upper and lower gastrointestinal, and hepatobiliary conditions. The unit has 50 in-patient beds across 3 ward areas and a nurse-led triage area which receives patients referred directly by their GP, the Emergency Department or out-patient clinics. If you are successful in being shortlisted for this role you will have a Values Based Interview (VBI) as part of the standard selection process along with a short technical interview. The aim of the VBI interview is to recruit people into the OUH who share our values and are therefore dedicated to Delivering Compassionate Excellence, the type of care you would like to receive for yourself or a member of your family.
