Band 2 ? Children?s Clinic RSUH/COUNTY 0.8WTE The Child Health Directorate at RSUH provides outpatient services at the Royal Stoke and County Site and also satellite clinics at Bentillee Neighbourhood , Hanley and Cobridge Health Centers and the Child Development Unit for babies, children and young adults. The department has transitioned services over a number of years from a traditional OPD delivering Consultant based clinic to a department that meets the needs of the local and regional population delivering Consultant and Nurse Led Clinics and shared care clinics with Children?s Centers, Manchester, Birmingham and Alderhey. The department delivers a fast paced phlebotomy services for the two CCG?s, SSOTP and SSSFT. Blood Transfusion services for patient?s requiring a monthly transfusion and an infusion service for both respiratory and gastroenterology. The Department also delivers a number of Nurse LedInvestigation Clinics The Child Health Directorate at RSUH are looking to recruit a band 2 Nursing Assistant to support the Registered Children?s Nurse?s delivering direct patient care and outpatient services. ? The post holder will support the delivery of baseline assessments for babies, children and young adults accessing the department for specialist services in oncology, haematology, diabetology, respiratory, cystic fibrosis, neonatology, cardiology, endocrinology and general paediatric outpatient services this include the measurement of weight, height and length. ? The preparation of clinic areas prior to the commencement of clinic ? Leading patient flow from assessment to consultant clinic, preparation clinic health records and required investigations prior to the clinic appointment. ? Deliver general community clinics within the Child Development clinic, ensuring patient?s have had a fullset of nursing observations completed and the patient health records are prepared ready for the child?s appointment. The department will offer the successful candidate a supportive and tailored training package to develop the required competencies to work within a busy and diverse children?s outpatient department. Support to complete the Trust Nursing Assistant Care Certificate. All staff are supported with a yearly appraisal leading to bespoke training and development opportunities and supportive time if required with the Directorate Education and Development team. It is advantageous if applicants have knowledge of the outpatient IM&T infrastructure.
