Our Ports, Coastal & Offshore division provides leading consultancy and advice in the planning, development and provision of port and maritime infrastructure. This extends from some of the world's largest dry bulk, tanker terminals and container terminals to cruise and ferry terminals, marinas, and small craft harbours.Will you bring your depth of experience to our remit of UK & international projects?We're looking for a Senior ports and maritime civil engineer to join our PCO team in Croydon. You'll help us to expand our depth and breadth of capability in the delivery of Mott MacDonald's work on a wide range of UK and international projects.What will you be doing each day?Engineering activitiesBeing a key addition to our Ports teams you'll be involved in various engineering activities including port masterplanning, port layout improvement studies and designing port structures and other facilities for oil & gas, container, general cargo and bulk terminals.Leading project teamsYou'll be helping to assist in developing our PCO business through leading project teams in our expanding Ports area. Your leadership skills will be honed at various stages of port engineering projects including outline planning, concept design, detailed design and administration of construction contracts.Managing project deliverablesNot only that, you'll also lead and manage the production of project deliverables. This can include reports, calculations, specifications, cost estimates and project programmes or budgets.Building business, building relationshipsYou will also be liaising with clients and stakeholders and contribute to the preparation of bids and tender documentation within business development.Have you got what it takes?You're the kind of person with a background in consulting engineering practice geared to the planning, design and construction of port and maritime structures (including cargo, container terminals, harbours, dredging, reclamation and breakwaters). You've worked in the UK and internationally both as a team member and leader for ports and maritime engineering projects. You're also confident in establishing professional client relationships with a wealth of client-facing experience.To be successful you'll need to have:A degree in Civil Engineering, Coastal Science or equivalentChartered or on your way to obtaining chartership statusExperience in commercial and financial aspects for port engineeringDue to the need to travel as necessary for project delivery you will be prepared to travel nationally/internationally for projects when required.Does this sound like the right role for you?
