Project Design Engineer job ? West Bromwich ? Manufacturing Role Overview Due to expansion, a new opportunity has arisen for a Project Design Engineer to join our client based in West Bromwich. Our client?s core business is power generation and they are proud to count virtually every diesel generator manufacturer in their customer base, as well as most UK genset installation and maintenance companies.They also supply their engineered solutions into other industries where reliability, performance and safety are paramount including: Oil & Gas, Marine, Industrial Engines, Mining & Quarrying and Land Based Industries. The Project Design Engineer must be able to read, interpret and synthesise engineering drawings, P+IDs, create bills of materials and project timing plans. The engineer must be confident to own and deliver on projects from concept/kick-off meetings to project delivery and post contract support. Although the Project Design Engineer would be expected to operate without supervision, they must also be able to work within the Engineering team to develop and sign off engineering designs and drawings before they are passed to manufacturing to ensure flawless manufacture. Finally an important element for the project design engineer is that he/she must be competent to comfortably interface at a highly professional level with our customers both internally and externally. Further Responsibilities: - Ability to work to deadlines to ensure dispatch dates are met. - Assisting in the development of a range of standard and hydraulic and pneumatic starting systems. - Prepared to own and run new development projects. - Prepared to take a hands-on role, working closely with our workshop engineers. - Working with sub-suppliers where necessary to ensure quality of outsourced items and compliance to their quality standards and customer?s order.Essential Criteria: - Practical Mechanical Engineering background - Degree qualified or equivalent (HND/HNC) - Understanding of hydraulics and compressed air - Working knowledge of CAD (solidworks)Scantec is the 2nd Largest Technical Agency in UK - Recruitment International Magazine 2016, and specialises in the Manufacturing, IT, Technical, Engineering and Scientific Sectors.
