This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced individual to work across a regional footprint and contribute to change across healthcare systems. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the NHS England South West Nursing &Quality Directorate supporting the Deputy Safeguarding Lead to deliver NHS England?s safeguarding responsibilities. Key aspects of the role will be to support the work of the safeguarding agenda (Adults and Children) and monitor safeguarding assurance processes with Clinical Commissioning Groups, Specialised Services and Primary Care. Engagement with local, regional and national colleagues will be expected to ensure safeguarding accountability and improvement actions for all NHS funded services and South West STPs is transparent across all partnerships including safeguarding boards. Key responsibilities include:? Overseeing and monitoring progress against agreed safeguarding objectives and work plans with CCGs in the south west. ? Supporting the work of the safeguarding network groups (Adults and Children).? Supporting the Deputy Safeguarding Lead to establish systems to ensure the safeguarding priority areas that are defined remain a focus.? Providing clear governance and safeguarding leadership across the health economy working with partners.? Have oversight of compliance against the current NHSE Accountability and Assurance Framework.? Supports as required directly commissioned services including Primary Care and Specialised Services with specialist safeguarding advice, assurance and improvement activity.Ideally you will already have experience in adult or children?s safeguarding operational or commissioning practice. Although a clinical background is not essential the ability to be clear on the value of audit and investigative processes on improving safeguarding practice and an understanding of the complexity of local services for vulnerable adults and/or children is crucial. Therefore, we are seeking an individual who can apply sound project management skills to a range of agendas within the safeguarding portfolio and work flexibly to prioritise workloads with competing demands.In return NHS England can offer you an opportunity to develop your skills in delivering statutory responsibilities across large number of organisations in the South West geographical footprint with a focus on improving outcomes for vulnerable people.
