The Zoo is committed to supporting global welfare and conservation efforts in the captive breeding of endangered species whilst supporting projects from many different countries around the world, including Ape Action Africa, Lola Ya Bonobo and the FFI Cao Vit Gibbon Project.In 2014, the Zoo launched its 20-year, £55million Masterplan. Since this time, new habitats which have opened to the public include Giraffe Savannah and Gibbon Forest. Recently TZ have opened a £3.5 million new world-class chimpanzee habitat, Chimpanzee Eden, and are looking forward to building on this continued growth and success. You will actively generate new business by promoting all aspects of the Zoo and the work the Zoo supports through pro-active telephone marketing. Your duties will include but not be limited to:? Managing the sale of all Zoo products including school bookings, encounters and experiences, birthday parties, memberships etc? Manage and respond to all enquiries, including email, telephone and face to face communications? Ensuring the accurate billing of sales and payments received, and records of bookings / transactions are maintained  What will I need to be considered for this Sales Assistant vacancy?? Proven experience working in a customer focused / sales role, ideally within a leisure attraction environment? Excellent communication skills with a demonstrable track record in exceptional customer care? A motivated, professional and flexible approach to working times and duties? IT literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook? Punctual and reliable? An interest in the Zoo?s work and purposeIn addition to the above, you will also need to be willing to be trained as a multi-function customer service assistant, and as a first aider in order to support commercial operations and the first aid duty rota as required.Although not essential, an NVQ level 2 or 3 in Customer Service or Administration would be highly advantageous.What will I receive in return?Contract Type: PermanentSalary: £17,076Working Hours: 40 hours per week, on a rota system working 5 days out of 7.  Benefits: 31 days holiday including time off in lieu of bank holidays, along with the benefit of a staff membership card, giving you free entry to the Zoo on your days off and discounts in our retail and food outlets.
