Are you an enthusiastic, motivated Dietitian with a proven record in paediatric dietetics? These newly funded sessions provides a rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Paediatric Gastroenterology Senior Specialist Dietitian working in the Nutrition and Dietetic Service provided to the Women?s and Children?s Clinical Management Group, University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust.We are looking for an experienced, motivated and active team player with excellent communication skills to undertake this specialist paediatric role. You will work as a core and valued member of the Paediatric Gastroenterology multi-disciplinary team and be a clinical dietetic lead for Paediatric Gastroenterology for Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. You will take the lead on providing specialist dietetic service as part of the core multidisciplinary team to:? Paediatric Gastroenterology MDT Outpatient Clinics in COPD, LRI held on xx? Paediatric Gastroenterology daycase referrals eg newly diagnosed coeliac or IBD children? Paediatric Gastroenterology inpatients? Ad hoc face to face and virtual telephone clinic appointments with Dietitian in between MDT Consultant clinic appointments? Paediatric Gastroenterology MDT meetings held on xx? Also need to provide expert input as part of the Paediatric Gastroenterology MDT for inpatients on other wards/unitsYou will be part of a high profile and valued paediatric and neonatal Nutrition and Dietetic team supported by a Paediatric Dietetic Team Dietetic Assistant.There is a need for excellent communication and organisational skills and a proactive working style, equipping you to work effectively with patients, carers, and a wide range of health and non-health professionals in both hospital and the community. You will also require good all round IT skills in order to enable you to collect and analyse quality and outcome data.You will be an autonomous and independent specialist practitioner working alongside Lead Consultants and Nurses, offering expert professional advice as a resource across the local network and nationally. You will have a great opportunity to develop clinical leadership skills and gain further broad experience.The Nutrition and Dietetic Service has a training commitment to other health professionals, carers and patient groups which will provide the opportunity to develop excellent presentation skills. The Service is a progressive Service which actively contributes to the Trusts and the national patient safety agenda and has established service improvement, redesign, clinical audit, R &D and policy/strategy programmes.There are also well defined CPD and clinical supervision models in place.You will be involved in pre-registration training of Dietitians as we provide A, B, C block placements and you will play an active part in this.Interested?
