Job OverviewOur client is looking for an experienced Stores & Dispatch Process Leader on a Temporary to Permanent basis for a well established Manufacturing business on the outskirts of Plymouth. The main purpose of the role will be to assist the team leader with the day to day supervision of the team and department.Duties and Responsibilities- Prioritise workload to achieve Stores & Dispatch objectives, i.e. Kits for production to build, timed deliveries- Distribution of all goods in to relevant departments- Pick parts for orders to be assembled- Assist with deliveries and 'booking in' of parts and materials- Assist with packing and dispatch as necessary- Stocktaking, cycle counting and other duties associated with a stores role Maintain good working relationships with other departments- Determine the most economic method of transport to use- Ensure records / systems are maintained for goods coming into and leaving the business- Recommend actions that are necessary to ensure that future work loads are adequately resourced- Check / approve Dispatch invoices, following any queries through to conclusion- Ensure optimum stocks of packaging are maintained- Manage and maintain the company pool vehicle and authorise its use - Work with functional managers to obtain necessary resources to support requirements- Keep Team Leader informed of task accomplishments, issues and status- Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment (Department/skips/upper car park & fenced area)- Ensure that you have the necessary skills and training to effectively participate in the Dispatch and Stores departments during workload peaks, holiday and sickness- Ensure department quality and Health & Safety procedures and policies are adhered to (including ISO9001/14001)- Facilitate problem solving and collaboration- Escalate issues which cannot be resolved to your Team Leader- Be responsible for the safe transportation of goods- To assist in the training of new personnel- To meet the physical demands of the position, which includes standing for long periods- Maintain the Despatch status board- Ensure that the forklift is in good working order and that the daily checks are completed- Motivate and inspire staff to achieve defined activities efficiently & on time- Embrace continuous improvement within the department- Run and co-ordinate month end stock checks - Stand in for the team leader if absences for any reason - Assist with annual appraisals 9.23 Per hour
