Student Accommodation OfficerAn exciting new opportunity has arisen for two Student Accommodation Officers to join our Accommodation team. Edinburgh Napier currently houses over 1500 students over four sites around Edinburgh city centre. Our accommodation is affordable, modern and supported by a dedicated team of University staff. Further information on our portfolio of properties can be viewed by visiting here.The RoleAs Student Accommodation Officer, you will manage a portfolio of city centre self-catered student flats and be responsible for the overall management, monitoring and control of the flats. You will liaise with colleagues to ensure maintenance, health & safety, security and the cleanliness of the properties are maintained to a high standard. You will also provide a front line service to student tenants on the full range of issues relating to student accommodation, including tenancy management, voids, rent arrears, allocations procedures and inter-flat concerns. This is a great opportunity if you are looking to join a customer-focused team where no two days are the same. What Are We Looking ForApplicants must demonstrate:·         Educated to degree level or equivalent relevant experience·         Strong experience working in an operational, property management position·         Extensive track record of successful delivery of the provision of services in a challenged used-focused environment·         Demonstrated knowledge of H&S compliance in property management ·         Excellent communication skills to enable you to work effectively with a wide range of people and deliver good outcomes for the University·         Confidence in mediating and resolving issues with people, both disciplinary and welfare·         Ability to work proactively, demonstrating initiative and a hands on approach to problem solving·         An understanding of current student welfare and wellbeing issues and the role of accommodation in supporting themDesirable attributes: ·         Appropriate qualification in housing ·         Knowledge of relevant housing legislation·         Knowledge of tenancy management systems and processes·         Previous experience working in student accommodation Benefits We OfferSalary: Grade 4 - £25,728 -  £30,688  per annumAdditional Information Start Date: ASAPApplication Closing Date: 15th April 2018Interviews are expected to be held week commencing 30th April 2018Edinburgh Napier University is committed to the creation of an inclusive culture
