new4all recruitment is acting as an employment business and is currently recruiting for a Trainee Health & Safety Coordinator to work for our client based in the Cannock area. The chosen candidate will report to the General Manager and will coordinate, support and offer advice to the company on all aspects with regards to Health and Safety. The role will also involve establishing, managing and monitoring standards, processes, communications training and systems to ensure all responsibilities associated with Health and Safety within the company are adhered to. Responsibilities and Duties:·         Elect and set up health and safety representative meetings as per statutory requirements·         Overall responsibility and compliance of the company?s H&S, ensuring all staff are aware of the importance and follow safety protocol·         Advise employees on all aspects of health and safety·         Implement practical and effective methods, both preventative and remedial, of promoting health and safety and safe working practices in the workplace ·         Conduct and organise relevant health and safety training for staff as requires, including first aid and fire safety·         Conduct risk assessments as required by legislation and ensure they are reviewed at relevant intervals and to maintain records of the same·         Conduct and carry out internal and compliance audits of our site and report on findings and manage issue log through to completion ·         Coordinate and manage first aid and fire safety representatives for our site ·         To recommend and implement control measures and advise on the standard of PPE issued to employees·         Carry out investigations into all accidents and near-miss incidents and to record the findings on the relevant forms·         Advise the general manager of all incidents reportable under RIDDOR ·         Conduct health and safety inspections and prepare reports and documents as required·         Identify areas where training/.certification is required to meet the standards imposed by legislation, approved Codes of Practice, or H.S.E guidance. Arrange such training/certification once identified·         Keep up to date with changes in current legislation and implement such changes where relevant·         Make management team aware of any relevant new legislation ·         Attend courses and seminars run by external sources to enable accurate interpretation of legislation to enable implementation within the organisation ·         Liaise with maintenance manager to establish contractor health and safety procedures·         Immediately contact the management team if situations are found·         Any other such tasks commensurate with the position  Hours and Pay:·         Monday to Friday, from 8.30am ? 4.30pm (37.5 hours per week)·         Some flexibility is required·         £7.50 per hour starting rate, with the possibility of this increasing after all training is complete ·         Temp to perm position over 12 weeks  If you feel you may be suitable for this position, please call our office on 01543 425544 and ask for Dave.
